Latest GNOME 3.2 uses new shell extension syntax so “old” GNOME 3.0 extensions don’t work on Fedora 16 or UBUNTU 11.10 using GNOME 3.2
Even when you copy extension to your /home/username/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions folder extensions are disabled by default.
To enable them you need to use gsettings command in terminal.
For example download, extract and copy noa11y@fpmurphy.com extension to your extensions folder.
Then enable extension with gsettings command:
gsettings set org.gnome.shell enabled-extensions "['noa11y@fpmurphy.com']"
If you are aware of GUI for enabling/disabling GNOME Shell extensions please share that info.
gnome-tweak-tool provides a GUI for this and other settings…
gnome-tweak-tool
have a nice day sir
I’ve been using the Gnome Tweak Tool to enable/disable on F16.
gnome-tweak-tool x
Try gnome-tweak-tool.
Gnome Tweak Tool has GUI for installing/enabling/disabling Shell extensions among a few other things which you normally would have to set up with dconf.
It’s available in gnome-tweak-tool at Fedora repositories.
Gnome Tweak Tool does not show all installed extensions
En fedora 16 Gnome Tweak Tool does not show all installed extensions and nautilus does not preview mp3 or ogg files
Calderón, install sushi and press the space bar to get previews of audio, view, text and more.
i will to test, thanks Jbicha
Thanks, but there is any chance to see soon a 16 version of Fusion Linux ? No official release since 14,1 (just a 15 that looks unfinished). I hope this project will continue in the good way it did some time.
If more people join it will be faster, it is as simple as that.
gnome-tweak-tool as of now in Debian cannot help install gnome-shell-extensions
